Impressively sharp as supplied, and easy to use. This is now my go-to knife for veg preparation. I'd prefer it if the handle were a bit longer, and if the back of the blade was actually straight (it has a slight dip) making it easier to push cut veggies off the board, but these are minor niggles. My only real gripe is the sharp corner on the end of the blade by the handle, as I accidentally cut myself on this when cleaning the knife. I've rounded it off with a small file, problem solved, but not everyone will be able or willing to do this,
