The **Case Mini Trapper** is a traditional pocket knife with a classic Trapper shape. This is a pattern that has its origins amongst hunters and poachers.



You open the Case Knives with two hands. To make this easier, there's a nail nick which gives you a little extra grip using your fingernail. This pocket knife is not equipped with a full lock, only with a slipjoint mechanism. This provides some resistance to prevent the knife from snapping shut during normal use. However, if you press on the spine of the blade, the knife will shut.



## Case Tru-Sharp SS steel
The blade is made of Case Tru-Sharp SS. This is a stainless steel that is actually the same as 420HC steel. This steel allows for fast sharpening, making it easy to maintain a sharp edge.



The blade of this knife is enhanced with a 'satin finish'. This is a chic and tasteful finish that is very popular.



## Micarta handle

The handle of this Case Knives Mini Trapper is made of micarta and measures 8.9 cm in length. Micarta is a great material for pocket knife handles. This material is grippy, relatively lightweight and it looks very cool. It is composed of fabric fibres and synthetic resin. The resulting layers often even make micarta look a bit like wood. However, it is a very stable and strong material.



## Traditional: the Trapper pattern
This knife is a so-called ‘Trapper’; one of the oldest and more famous ‘patterns’ in the world of Traditionals. Usually, the 2 blades hinge from the same side of the handle. These blades are usually a clippoint and a speypoint, but variations are possible. The origins of this model lie with the poachers who used to set traps and then had to process captured game.
