Useful tool for starting a small fire outdoors.


The **ESEE Fire Steel** is a remarkable tool. A fire steel, but without the ferrocerium rod. So what good will it do you?




Still quite a lot! The ESEE Fire Steel is made from 1095 carbon steel. Rock-solid and untreated after hardening. As such you can use it to start a fire in combination with a fire stone and a piece of charred cloth. The edges are sharp enough to scrape a fire steel and in the middle of the Fire Steel you will find a cut-out which you can use to guide a fire bow.




It is stored in a practical tin. You can use this tin to char a piece of fabric. As such you can create your own tinder. The tool also comes with an English manual with tips for use.

Matériau de très bonne qualité avec silex et en friction

Heel goede vuurslag die veel vonken produceert in combinatie met silex. Als spilhouder voor de vuurboog ook heel goed want veroorzaakt weinig wrijving. Wel wordt het ijzer warm maar met een hanschoen of een lapje leder (ik gebruik hiervoor het lederen merkteken van een oude jeansbroek want dat past in het opbergblik) heb je daar geen last van. Om vonken te maken met een magnesiumstick (ferrorod) vind ik het een pak minder goed dan met de achterkant van een mes), maar 2/3 functies zijn dus top. Wat echter ook jammer is , is dat het (voorlopig?) niet meer verkrijgbaar is.

Erg handig en niet groot. Ook met de vuurboog ideaal (wordt wel warm).
