Hultafors felling axe HY 10-1.0 SV, 840108

I'd been looking for a 1kg .Boys / Forest axe with a longer handle, This ticked the boxes and at a good price. I use it for trimming light branches on felled trees and splitting, lits ighter overall can be used one handed held short like a hatchet yet remains long enough to get plenty of energy into a swing.

I bought this as a gift for a friend - it seems like you get a lot of axe for your money! The axe feels very nicely made with a good balance - not too heavy. My friend has reported back that the axe "Is a thing of beauty!" He says it's really nice to use, and actually quite good for splitting logs, despite not being all that heavy - the lightness (compared to a heavy splitting maul) makes it easier to use and more accurate - less fatiguing.
