The **Nitecore EDC27 UHi** is the upgraded version of the popular Nitecore EDC27. The original EDC27 was launched in 2023, and created quite a buzz in the industry with its ultra-slim design and powerful beam. This new EDC27 UHi builds on this success with the latest UHi LEDs, which provide an even brighter and farther-reaching beam. With this, Nitecore once again pushes the boundaries of what slim and powerful torches can achieve. This light has a maximum light output of no less than 3100 lumens and a beam reach of 305 metres. Impressive for a flashlight the size of half a smartphone! It comes as no surprise that the Nitecore EDC27 won the 'Best EDC Flashlight 2023' award. 

## Nitecore EDC27 UHi Advanced Sandwich Construction

The EDC27 UHi features what Nitecore calls an 'Advanced Sandwich Construction'. The sandwich housing is made of two stainless steel plates. With a composite frame and a heat-conducting plate in between. The black steel casing is anodised to military standard HA III. Grip plates are fitted to the sides of the light for an excellent grip. The whole sandwich is secured with six sturdy screws on the sides.

The EDC27 UHi also features a 'Hybrid Heat Dissipation System'. You'll find this behind the pocket clip and it is made of copper with an aluminium plate on top. This system, combined with the internal Advanced Temperature Regulation (ATR) module, ensures great heat diffusion. Since it's located behind the clip, you won't feel any unwanted heat while using it.

## Nitecore EDC27 UHI controls

The flashlight also has an OLED display. The display shows light mode, lumen count, burn time, battery and lockout mode. You can switch through light modes with the switch on the back. With this switch you can click through the five light modes (ultra low, low, medium, high and turbo) and also the strobe mode. Because of the heat that is generated, the burn time in the turbo mode is limited to approx. 5-7 seconds. The EDC27 UHI features two lockout modes:

  * 1. Half Lockout Mode (On/off button is locked, light mode button is usable)
  * 2. Full Lockout Mode (both on/off button and light mode button are locked)

The EDC27 UHi's 1700mAh Li-ion battery is rechargeable with the included USB-C cable. The charging port is fitted with a protective cap. This prevents dust and moisture from entering the charging port.

## Nitecore EDC27 pocket clip

Last but not least, the EDC27 features an innovative pocket clip with an attachment piece. This attachment piece features ridges, making it easy to grip and take the flashlight from your pocket. Below this attachment is a cord eye for attaching a lanyard.
