With the Ochsenkopf Spalt-Fix splitting axe H-2508 Rotband-Plus you will receive the best results with little effort. It is the result of the wedge-shaped blade. It's 2.5 head will have a devastating effect when it hits the block. Even though a splitting axe doesn't really have to be sharp this axe is razor-sharp. The edge is even polished!

A solid and effective splitting maul. Works well on the tougher knotty or large rounds which some of my lighter axes struggle with. Well made with a decent length handle and an effective overstrike collar. I’ve also used the Stihl badged version but the price of the original makes it much more appealing!

I own 6 splitting mauls and axes and have used dozens, if I had to have just one it would be this. Heavy enough to tackle big logs, light enough to use all day. Easy to unstick, near perfect splitting action. Only criticism would be a more a matter of personal preference, I prefer axe handles to not be varnished.
