The **Amare Knives Folding Creator** is a very large pocket knife, designed by Tashi Bharucha. This French designer introduced an amazing chef's knife. A type of mini santoku, but large enough for many different tasks in the kitchen. The handle is cleverly designed. Just like a normal santoku you can easily grab it with a 'pinch grip'. You hold the blade in between your thumb and index finger. As such you have a lot of control over the knife.

 The blade is made from Vg10 steel. A popular choice which has been used for kitchen knives for many years. It retains its sharpness well, is easy to sharpen and stainless.

 You open the Amare Knives Folding Creator with two hands. The, by Uli Hennicke designed, A-joint mechanism ensures that it won't accidentally close. This mechanism is unique for Amare. The A-joint mechanism works like a slipjoint. On the inside of the handle the mechanism is shaped like a letter V of which the two ends press down on the blade. Both ends contain a semi-circular cut-out. At the part where the blade rotates around the hinge screw, a round rod is placed on the outside of the blade. When opened and closed this rod falls into one of the cut-outs of the A-joint mechanism. Because the spring that locks the blade when opened applies more pressure than the spring that locks the blade when closed, the knife is easier to open than to close. Incredibly innovative. Another advantage is that the A-joint mechanism is completely hidden in the handle. As such no dirt can get stuck in between the locking mechanism.

Hervorragendes Klapp-Kochmesser: Sehr scharf geschliffen out of the box, liegt gut in der Hand und ist komplett Paragraf 42a konform. Man kann es also bedenkenlos mitnehmen, z.B in den Urlaub. Gewohnt gute Qualität von Amare Knives und Real Steel. 

Het is een groot zwaar mes. Het is kwalitatief en mooi afgewerkt al is het zeker geen luxueus mes. 
Ik heb dit mes gekocht als keukenmes voor als we met de famillie gaan kamperen of op vakantie zijn. Toen ik het uitprobeerde in de keuken bleek dit mes onwaarschijnlijk capabel te zijn. Het presteert als een echt Keukenmes (veel beter dan de spydiechef). Ik zou nooit gedacht hebben dat een folder zo goed zou kunnen dienen in de keuken. 

Versand des Messers war hervorragend. Sehr zügig und via DHL problemlos abgewickelt. 

Das Messer selber kam sorgfältig verpackt in einer schönen Präsentbox. 

Die Verarbeitung ist beeindruckend gut. Ich achte selber sehr auf Details und kann nur sagen, das alles passt. Übergänge sind sehr genau. Alles gleichmäßig und symmetrisch. Ich wüsste nicht, was ich beanstanden soll. 

Zur Funktionalität sei gesagt, dass ich einen Folder (oder feststehendes) Messer zum Kochen gesucht habe. Mein „großes“ Schweizer Messer hat leider eine zu kleine Klinge für ein Chefkochmesser und mein Outdoormesser ist schlicht zu dick mit 6mm Klingenstärke. Mich hat das Konzept eines Santoku-Folders überzeugt. Es soll ins Wohnmobil oder mal eben in den Rucksack für grillen unterwegs. Ich muss mir also keine Gedanken über den Klingenschutz machen. 

Wenn man ein großes Santoku oder Chefkochmesser sein eigen nennt, dann wird man schnell sehen, dass die Proportionen hier anders sind. Griff ist länger, Klinge ist kürzer. Aber dafür ist es halt ein Klappmesser. 

Das Design ist wirklich durchdacht.  Es dürfte nicht größer, nicht kleiner sein. Alles, was ein- und ausklappt passt einfach. 

Die schärfe ist 1A (Papier wird glatt durchgeschnitten, man kann sich damit rasieren). Keine Abstriche. Habe meine erste Probemalzeit gekocht. Es ist wie mit einem meiner scharfen Küchenhelfer.

Ich habe mir ein Messer bestellt und frage mich, ob ich nicht einen Fehler gemacht habe, und vielleicht zwei hätte bestellen sollen. Aber es gibt ja noch Geburtstag und Weihnachten….
