The **Buck Canoe 0389BRS** is a cool pocket knife, designed according to the classic Canoe pattern. The protrusions on the bolsters prevent you from getting caught behind the sharp corner of the back of the blade with your pocket. It's shaped a little like a canoe, hence the name!




You open the Buck with two hands. To make this easier, there's a nail nick which gives you a little extra grip using your fingernail. This pocket knife is not equipped with a full lock, only with a slipjoint mechanism. This provides some resistance to prevent the knife from snapping shut during normal use. However, if you press on the spine of the blade, the knife will shut.



## Blade made of 420J2 steel
This blade is made of 420J2 steel, a basic stainless steel type that is easy to sharpen.



The blade of this knife is enhanced with a 'satin finish'. This is a chic and tasteful finish that is very popular.



## Handle made of wood
The handle of this pocket knife is made of wood. This is, of course, one of the best-known handle materials for knives. We always recommend taking good care of a wooden handle. Do not expose a wooden handle too much to moisture and regularly coat the wood with oil or wax.



## Traditional: the Canoe pattern
The Canoe is a popular pocket knife type because it actually solves a well-known ‘problem’ with slipjoint pocket knives. Often, when closed, part of the tang protrudes from the blade. This is a tad sharp, which is not nice when reaching into your pocket. The Canoe features bolsters that stick out a bit to cover that sharp corner. It comes with an additional advantage: it makes the handle look like a canoe, hence the name.

Pachtig mooi zakmesje kan ook niet anders van Buck, altijd mooie messen van Buck ben hier weer blij mee. 

This is a lovely pocket Knife. The build quality is fantastic, solid and feels like something made to last. The wood and brass go together well and feel very classic. The blade is a typical pen knife size. This was a wonderful present for my Brother in Law of his 50th birthday. What made even it more special were the engraving options.

Scherp geprijsd, maar degelijk, goed afgewerkt en mooi zakmes. Compact en handzaam voor kleine klusjes in en om het huis. Wordt redelijk scherp geleverd, maar is makkelijk nog scherper te krijgen met een strop. Geen hoogwaardig staalsoort, maar met de prima hittebehandeling van Buck, waardoor het redelijk lang scherp blijft, sterk is, en makkelijk zelf te slijpen...prettige eigenschappen voor een mes dat gemaakt is om te gebruiken. Het enige minpuntje is: geen 'half stop' als je het mes inklapt.
