Are your knives in need of sharpening?


A Diafold sharpening stone has the design of a butterfly knife with which the handle is folded around the diamond sharpening stone. This way the stones are optimally protected. The stones can be used on two sides and each side has its own grain size. The colour in the well-known DMT-circled pattern shows which grain size it concerns.  
  

**Information about grain size DMT sharpening stones**
The grain size of a diamond stone and a water stone cannot be plainly compared. This is due to the fact that the construction and materials used are essentially different. In case of a water stone the sharpening grains are incorporated into the stone. These grains will be loosened from the stone during the sharpening process in the form of a kind of sharpening paste that arises. In case of a diamond stone, the diamonds are tightened into the surface of the stone.  
  

**Important to know**
You may choose for dry or wet sharpening with the sharpening stones by DMT. The advantage of wet sharpening is that the stone is lubricated and sharpening residues are disposed of. Only use water and never oil if you want to sharpen wet. In addition it is good to know that a diamond sharpening stone has to be used a couple of times in order to obtain the optimum sharpening result. The operation of a new sharpening stone is a little too coarse. Only after 5 to 10 knives the stone will obtain its definitive working.

Fantastische slijpsteen. In combinatie met de hardcoat FWMEF-H variant heb ik nu alles in huis om on-the-go alles vlijmscherp te houden. Kan nat en droog worden gebruikt, groot genoeg om mooie lange halen te kunnen maken, zelfs met messen die wat forser formaat hebben. Mooie prijs, enigzins hoog vergeleken met het andere aanbod op kato, maar deze verdienen zichzelf voor mij al terug na een maand. En ze gaan echt voor eeuwig mee lijkt het wel. 10/10

Lekker handig en meditatief, de zwarte kant slijpt snel en grof alle overbodige metaal eraf van al mn botte messen en tuingereedschap. Ook van zelfgemaakte tools op de camping site. Dan de blauwe kant maakt het netjes scherp. Dit is mijn satisfyer Togo. Instant Zen moment. Waarom ik zo blij ben geworden is dat het slijpen  lekker vlug gaat en daar wordt ik happy de peppi van. Zelfs vrienden die langs kwamen op de camping heb ik 5 gruwelijk botte mishandelde messen weer papercut scherp kunnen krijgen. Heerlijk in het zonnetje lekker chill. Ik kook graag bij anderen maar hun botte messen zijn een doorn in mijn oog. Dan nam ik weleens een slijpsteentje mee wat erg onhandig was en gauw afgeeft. Nu niet meer. Deze gaat mee in mn broekzak als ik op visite ga en de kans bestaat dat ik met iedereen waar ik langs ga mee kook.  Je kookt zo vele malen lekkerder en met meer liefde als de messen scherp geslepen zijn. Zelfs mijn 3 dochters zeggen tegen mij. Pap je hebt ons zo verpest met scherpe messen koken dat zij er ook last van hebben als messen bij hun vrienden en vriendinnen bot zijn haha. Het leukste vind ik dat ik binnenkort weer bij mn ouwe moedertje van 84 mee kookt en dan kan ik gelijk haar messen weer slijpen en nu veel vlugger dan eerst. Dat deed mn overleden vader eerst. Van hem heb ik de liefde voor het messen slijpen uit de hand met een klein steentje gekregen. Hij deed dat zo goed. Kon er uren als klein kind gebiologeerd en vol verwondering  naar kijken. Dankjewel pa. Ik mis hem. Dat rustig kijken naar alle bramen en happen uit een mes en dan de snede weer vlijmscherp herstellen. Pff petje af. Ik eer hem op het moment dat ik messen mag slijpen voor de mensen die ik lief heb. Rough diamonds on a DMT diafold are  this mens best friend. Ik heb een ruwe bolster blanke pit tool bij me, binnen handbereik en dat geeft rust EN VEEL VOLDOENING. Deze tool bewijst dat goed gereedschap het halve werk is. 

super handig voor onderweg. Het opvouw mechaniek zou wat robuuster kunnen. maar ik ben tevreden met het product. Slijpstenen van DMT zijn topkwaliteit!
