The **Eden ED 10x42** has a stunning bright and sharp image, with colours that stand out. It is the result of the top-quality ED-glass and BAK-4 prism. The pair is also enhanced with different coatings that ensure a high light transmission. So real premium Eden binoculars.

## Top-quality optical elements 

This pair has been enhanced with top-quality optical elements you will often only find in much more expensive pairs. The pair is, for instance, enhanced with BaK-4 glass. As such as little as possible light is lost. The adjustable eye cups and the eye relief of 17 mm ensure that this pair is also great for spectacle wearers. The di-electric and phase-correction coatings on the prisms contribute to the very high light transmission of the Eden ED 10x42. The result is a lively and sharp image. You can easily focus the pair with the large focus wheel in between the oculars. Because the pair is filled with nitrogen you won't be bothered by condensation. The objective lens is enhanced with a waterproof coating to make sure you even have a great overview in the rain. 

## ED Glass prevents colour shifts
The Eden ED 10x42 is enhanced with ED glass. ED stands for Extra Low Dispersion. This means that the Chromatic Aberration is reduced. For binoculars without this type of glass you often see that, at the edges of an object, colours emerge that are not true to reality. ED glass ensures that this does not happen. 

## Feels great in hand because of the 'Coffee Bean structure'.
The magnesium body of the Eden ED 10x42 is finished with a so-called 'Coffee Bean Structure'. As such the pair is a little rougher, making it feel more solid in hand. You won't easily drop it.

## Scope of delivery
The Eden ED 10x42 comes with lens caps, a broad carrier belt and a top-quality bag. We had this bag produced by Tasmanian Tiger. It is made from 700D Cordura and enhanced with YKK zipper, a belt loop and smaller loops to, for instance, attach it to a harness. On the inside you will find thick, protective padding to protect the binoculars and a small compartment for your lens pen, micro-fibre cloth or your keys. The laser-cut MOLLE on the side is great for attaching your keys, a flashlight or a pouch.

OK, heel lang bezig geweest met zoeken naar een vervanging van mijn oude (Samsung) kijker...aangeschaft in vorig millennium. Doet het nog steeds, plakkerig rubber er af gehaald en weer nieuw leven ingeblazen.
Maar...het is wat het is.
Tijd voor een opvolger ...

En dan begint het feest op het internet...
Wat vandaag de dag ondertussen een dagelijks feit is: 

Heel veel recenties online van heel veel verschillende verrekijkers...met allemaal 'feiten' die nogal difuus zijn...ik kon er weinig mee. 

Technische, 'wetenschappelijke' en vaag gefundamenteerde verhalen...met referenties naar bijbehorende procducten...die toevallig te koop zijn in sites die bijna dezelfde oorsprong hebben. 
(PS...de Eden kijker referenties zijn bijna allemaal ook met de K&T website gelinkt:-)

En een paar heel erg nuchtere ervaringen van mensen die zo'n ding vast hebben en vertellen hoe het bevalt. 
Gewoon mensen met een mening, bevalt me eigenlijk heel erg goed:-)

Lang verhaal kort, zonder het ding in mijn handen te hebben gehad toch het risico genomen en uiteindelijk voor deze gekozen. 
Was best lastig, de oudere Eden modellen van de 10X42's zien er wat mij betreft gewoon beter uit. Onopvallend en strak tov ribbelig en met kleurtjes...

Maar op het moment dat je het ding gebruikt waarvoor het gemaakt is veranderd de wereld...

Heerlijk helder beeld, je ziet de kleuren!!! Snel scherp te krijgen, past prima in mijn handen, gigantisch verschil met mijn oude kijker.

Toch een paar opmerkingen...de kijker wordt geleverd met een draagband en een tas met een draagband. Beide zijn prima, maar het is nogal lastig de kijker met zijn eigen draagband in de tas te krijgen...en de manier waarop de tas sluit maakt het onmogelijk om de kijkerdraagband als universele draagband te gebruiken. Ik was dus ook nogal verbaasd over de recenties die aangeven dat de tas "te groot is" voor deze kijker...ben nog aan het puzzelen. 

Maar de conclusie is vrij simpel...dit ding is ongelooflijk goed...seriously:-)





Pas toen ik dat "echte dure merk" goed kon vergelijken met deze EDEN ED 10x42 besefte ik hoe sterk de optische kwaltijd is van deze EDEN. Geweldig!
Natuurlijk zijn er minimale verschillen maar wie geeft 25 jaar garantie voor die prijs? . . . . en toen werd het erg stil :-))

Al heel wat verrekijkers heb ik 1 op 1 rustig kunnen vergelijken onder verschillende omstandigheden. Bij schemer, nacht of felle zon, dichtbij voor insecten, dassen of voor vergezichten, telkens ben ik verrast door de goede prijsverhouding van de EDEN optieken. 
Al jaren gebruik ik een EDEN HD 10x42 (en een HD 10x25) in volle tevredenheid over de goede en degelijke kwaliteit. Met de HD 10x42 maakte ik een ander blij en met de ED nu nu alweer een tijdje mezelf.

Dat EDEN geen HD, XP of ED 10x32 heeft vind ik jammer. Die maat vind ik universeler. Verder vind ik EDEN verrekijkers top!

Minpunt? De draagband vind ik met 6cm te breed bij het omhoog kijken naar sterren of vogels. De tas is daarentegen weer een plus, super bescherming en degelijk.

Aardige mensen die vierkant staan voor hun producten. Top!

Mooie compacte verrekijker. Lekker handzaam, niet te zwaar. Zeer helder beeld met mooie kleuren. Ik gebruik hem niet alleen om ver mee te kijken maar vooral objecten tussen de 5 en 30 m. Scherp stellen gaat zeer snel en soepel. Schouderband is wat breed voor om je nek maar als je hem over je schouder hangt is ie perfect door de breedte en de anti-slip. 
Zeker een aanrader!

Ik heb al een HD 8x32, 3 stuks XP 8x42 (2x 2e hands) en een 10x56 (ook 2e hands) kijker en heb er een aantal cadeau gedaan, dus om te zeggen dat ik een fan ben is zacht uitgedrukt. Daarom was ik enorm nieuwsgierig naar de nieuwste, ogenschijnlijk beste en duurste telg uit de familie. Ik heb hem net vandaag ontvangen en ik schrijf direct een review want ik ben eerlijk gezegd best verbaasd. Niet over de beeldkwaliteit, want die lijkt inderdaad iets beter, zoals anderen ook al hebben geschreven, en hoewel ik nog geen echt vergelijkend waren onderzoek heb gedaan kan ik wel zeggen dat het allemaal net wat helderder, scherper en frisser oogt. Alleen de vervorming bij de rand van het beeld is niet vooruit gegaan, nul. Je ziet duidelijk nog het beeld krom weglopen bij de randen (en dezelfde reflectie van licht in een boog). Dat is wel jammer, maar ja dat zie je terug in de prijs, hoewel die al steviger aan het worden is. En voor wie wel eens door een Svaro heeft gekeken, zoals ik bij een vriend, ziet ook meteen dat je blijkbaar ED glas en ED glas hebt. Dit is duidelijk een lagere categorie ED glas. Nu is het niet eerlijk deze kijker met een kijker die nieuw het 5 of 6 voudige kost te vergelijken, maar toch. 

Nee wat mij meteen opvalt, en best wel dwars zit, is het feit dat de oogschelpen maar 2 standen uitgedraaid kunnen worden. Tenminste dat denk ik want ik durf niet teveel kracht te zetten. Dit is bij de XP kijkers 3 standen. Volgens de specs scheelt het maar een milimeter, maar zo voelt dat niet aan. Morgen meet ik het na. Ik kan met deze kijker de schelpen niet meer in mijn oogkassen drukken (om de zon uit te blokken) zonder dat ik bij de minste of geringste beweging zwarte vlekken zie. Het is precies alsof ik een XP kijker maar 2 kliks uitdraai, dan heb ik hetzelfde. Waarom Eden? Wat is daar de gedachte achter? Nu moet ik opletten dat ik de kijker tegen mijn wenkbrauw zet hetgeen instabieler is en veel meer ruimte voor hinderlijk licht openlaat. Daarnaast, en dat vind ik echt heel knullig, past de regendop aan de kant waar de diopter ring zit niet over die ring heen waardoor je dus een verschil in dophoogte krijgt van zeg 5mm. De geribbelde diopter ring steekt dusdanig uit dat je de dop alleen over het smalle uitdraaibare deel van de oogschelp kan schuiven (tenzij je echt hard gaat duwen) terwijl de ander er zo volledig overheen schuift. Dat begrijp ik werkelijk niet. Is dat alleen bij mijn exemplaar zo of is daar gewoon niet goed naar gekeken tijdens het ontwerpen. Over ontwerp gesproken, waarom niet gewoon een rubber casing zonder allerlei ribbels en ander geneuzel erop? Nu ziet de kijker er goedkoop (tacky) uit en dat is zonde. De grote jongens hebben mooie strakke behuizing zonder lawaai. Doet mij een beetje denken aan sommige aziatische auto's die best duur zijn maar ontworpen lijken te zijn door een 'drifter' van 18 met allerlei dikke wielkassen en agressief ogende koplampen. Onnodig lawaai. Het rubber is stroef genoeg voor de grip daar heb je die koffiebonen niet voor nodig, bovendien gaat daar alleen maar vuil in zitten. Het is een kwestie van smaak maar als je nou mensen de kant van de echt dure kijkers op wil duwen qua ontwerp is dit wat mij betreft wel de manier dat te doen. Enfin, dat is een kwestie van smaak natuurlijk en niet het belangrijkst. Ik ga kijken of ik kan wennen aan die ondiepere oogschelpen, en zo niet of dat opweegt tegen de ogenschijnlijke verbetering in beeld. Anders gaat hij terug.
