Are your knives in need of sharpening?

The EZE-LAP 2x6” 61F is a diamond sharpening stone with a fine grit size (600 grit). Use this fine stone to bring a dull edge back to life and give it a sharp finish. This stone is also ideal for everyday maintenance of a sharp edge. The advantage of diamond as an abrasive is that it quickly removes material. Also, its surface stays nice and smooth, and the stone lasts a very long time. 


The sharpening stone has two non-slip feet on the bottom. Not only does this keep the stone stable while sharpening, but it also increases the sharpening surface. In order to distinguish between the grit sizes of the stones, there is a stripe in the colour of the grit size at the bottom of the sharpening stones. In the case of the 61F, it is a red stripe. With EZE-LAP, this equates to a fine grit size (600 grit).


## Using the sharpening stone


We recommend that you start with a slightly older knife for your first times sharpening with this stone, because diamond sharpening stones need to be "pre-sharpened". You'll notice that the surface of the sharpening stone is initially somewhat coarser in texture. After sharpening a few knives, this will disappear, and the stone will reach its final level of effect. Let the stone do its work without applying too much pressure.


EZE-LAP diamond sharpening stones can be used wet and dry. The advantage of wet sharpening is that it lubricates the stone and also washes away the sharpening residues. Only use water to wet sharpen - never use oil. If you only use the sharpening stone for dry sharpening, we recommend that you regularly clean the surface. This will remove sharpening residues from previous use and make sure the stone stays in top condition.


## EZE-LAP grit size


EZE-LAP makes diamond sharpening products with five different grit sizes. These grit sizes have an associated colour so you can quickly identify which grit size you're using. In a nutshell:



* Extra coarse: green, 150 grit. 
To quickly sharpen and reshape a very blunt or damaged edge.

* Coarse: black, 250 grit.
To quickly sharpen and reshape a blunt or damaged edge.

* Medium: purple, 400 grit.
To quickly sharpen, reshape and finish a blunt edge.

* Fine: red, 600 grit.
Suitable for almost all sharpening jobs. It sharpens blunt edges rapidly and ensures a sharp finish.

* Super fine: blue, 1200 grit.
For a razor-sharp and polished edge with a very fine finish.

Drie stenen (grof, fijn zeer fijn) van dit formaat gekocht om mijn beitels en schaafbeitels te wetten. Werkt boven al mijn verwachtingen, formaat was groot genoeg (iedereen heeft het altijd over de 3x6), razendsnel scherp en meer dan fijn genoeg. Bij het houtbewerken is een wat harde knoop al genoeg om je mooi gepolierde snijvlak in te kerven zodat je soms meerdere keren per dag opnieuw moet gaan wetten. Dus die snelheid haalt het zeker boven mijn nochtans geliefde coticule natuursteen. Die gebruik ik nu nog om mijn snijgerief af en toe 's in de watten te leggen om ze dan hoogglanzend terug aan de muur te hangen.
