A very nice Laguiole knife well made. Unfortunately mine came with the following flaws: 1. The grind was very un-symmetrical with nearly no grind on one side and very wavy on the other. Additionally the first 5mm from the tang had no grind at all and the tip was dented blunt completely. 2. The blade is not centered properly which needs extra caution at closing

Very beautiful traditional gentlemen knife in which combined are great functionality and old time vibe. The craftsmanship is on high level as well. Out of the box, only two peculiarities, on my sample, are seen: slight asymmetry at the front end of the bolsters, and bad and incomplete grind of the factory edge (towards the tang). The latter is not an issue at all, since the steel on the blade allows easy sharpening, and the former is within the tolerance of hand crafting (i.e., gives some personality without breaking the overall aesthetics). Everything else is literally perfect. In use the knife shows up as great slicer, as it is meant to be. This is not a surprise, since the spine of the blade tapers gradually from the tang (2.9 mm) towards the tip (0.4 mm), forming extremely fine and even edge. The retention of the edge is good. The handle is slime, but with excellent ergonomics, in all grip positions. This, in combination with the light - well distributed - weight and the low blade height, makes the knife quite maneuverable. The initial pressure for closing is noticeably high, but definitely not overkill, and in my opinion, acting like a semi-lock, gives extra safety. There is one intermediate blade stop at 90-degree which is not stiff and sharp, but enough secure. My experience with this knife is very positive and I really do recommend it. Also, the delivery time was really fast.
