The **Hultafors Arvika 5 Star** is a remarkable felling axe, made in Sweden. It was designed as such that it is perfect when quickly felling trees. For the design one closely looked at Australian racing axes that are used for lumber competitions. During these competitions the goal is a felling a tree as fast as possible. This Hultafors Arvika can therefore also be used for these types of competitions.



The head is made from Swedish axe steel. Forged by hand near Hults Bruk in Sweden. The edge has a convex grind. This is a grind that combines sharpness with sustainability. You, after all, want the axe to retain its sharpness. Especially during a competition. The head is enhanced with a satin finish and lacquered for less resistance in the wood.



According to Hultafors this axe isn't sharp upon delivery to make sure you can sharpen it yourself. We personally felt it was quite sharp when we received it, but we can also imagine that for competitive use you want it to be razor-sharp.



## Axe handles


Hultafors uses American hickory wood for the handles. This type of wood is exceptional in absorbing blows without breaking. As such it is perfect as a handle for hammers and, of course, axes. In terms of shape Hultafors selected the 'fastest' shape for this Arvika axe: with it you will chop through a block of wood fastest.

Ben zeer content van het bijl. Goeie Zweeds kwaliteit.
Zoals normaal bij Knives en tools waar ik al jaren messen van koop en andere.
Altijd prefect af gehandeld en loopt er al iets mis wordt het altijd op een correcte manier opgelost.

Die Qualität der Axt ist eine Enttäuschung! Um die Axt brauchbar zu machen, muss man den Stiel tauschen und den Kopf gerade montieren. 
Hat man bei der neuen Axt eine Schnur vom höchsten Punkt der Schneide zum Stielende gespannt, so lag das untere Ende der Schneide mehr    als 1cm aus der Achse(und der Stiel an sich war gerade).  

Bon produit , bien équilibré , polyvalent .2kg c est bien !
