The **Hultafors PK GH Precision Knife** is a fixed knife for precise jobs. This Hultafors PK is an essential piece of gear for a woodcarver. The pointed tip reaches places you can't reach with a normal knife. However, it's useful to bear in mind that such a pointed tip is of course more vulnerable than a normal knife tip.


The blade is made from Japanese carbon steel. This is a sturdy steel that is easy to sharpen. It isn't stainless, though, so take care around moisture and acids. The handle is made from polypropylene and encased in a layer of Santoprene. This rubber-like plastic provides extra grip. 



The knife comes with a handy sheath so you can carry it on a belt up to 4 cm wide. You can also hang it from a button on your overalls. To do this, unclip the belt loop, slide the button in and then click it into place. Very practical!

Très bonne prise en main, longueur de lame idéal pour la coupe du bois et la gravure. La lame est arrivée bien aiguisée et facile à entretenir. 

Très bon couteau de sculpture facile a affûter donne un super bon tranchant pas le plus résistant du monde mais très suffisant pour la plupart des bois.
J'adore l'ergonomie du manche.
Super rapport qualité prix.
une petite étoile en moin car le manche craque un peu (juste un peu de bruit) quand on bouge la lame sur les cotés, sûrement que la soie doit être plus petite que chez les autres hultafors, mais c'est pousser un peu le vice, ce n'est pas un couteau bushcraft prévu pour être tordu.


Ich habe vor einiger Zeit das Mora Carving Basic in rostfreiem Stahl (12C27) gekauft, leider ist 12C27 beim Holzschnitzen dem Carbonstahl unterlegen (beim Rostfreien kommt es bei selben Schliffwinkeln eher zum Aufrollen der Schnittkante). Nun habe ich dieses Hultafors gesehen und ausprobiert. - Als Carbonstahl verwendet Mora C100 und Hultafors SK5, beide sind um 60HRC und verhalten sich ziemlich ähnlich (spüre keinen Unterschied).
Der Erl geht etwas tiefer als be anderen Hultafors, etwa bis 5cm vor dem Ende des Griffes.
Griff liegt super in der Hand und rutscht durch die Gummierung auch nicht. Gummierung ist aber auch ein Sägespäne-Magnet.
Der Schliff ab Werk bei Hultafors ist allgemein recht stumpf und die Messer müssen immer nachgeschliffen werden vor der ersten Verwendung, wogegen das Mora tatsächlich rasierscharf kam.
Die Scheide der Hultafors-Messer ist ganz OK, aber ich mag den Gürtelclip von Mora lieber.

Hultafors macht gute Messer, aber man muss sie selber schärfen können.
