The **LionSteel M4 MagnaCut** is an all-round fixed knife designed by Michele 'Moletta' Pensato. It is designed as a knife for bushcraft enthusiast and other outdoor fans. Large enough for comfortable use and compact enough to take with you on hikes. On the one hand the design of this knife is very modern. On the other hand it looks like a classic hunting knife. LionSteel knows how to balance these two like no other. On the spine of the blade, around the transition of the handle, you find a small protrusion. So small you hardly notice it, but large enough to offer your thumb more grip.

## Knivesandtools Exclusive

This MagnaCut version of the LionSteel M4 was created through a collaboration between LionSteel and Knivesandtools itself. A great knife with a fantastic price-quality ratio, exclusively available at Knivesandtools.

## Olive wood handle

The subtle handle is made from olive wood. A light brown type of wood with a beautiful pattern. Please note: wood is a natural product, so each knife will have a slightly different pattern. Your LionSteel M4 will be truly unique! In addition to its beautiful appearance, olive wood is also lightweight and comfortable in hand.

## CPM MagnaCut steel

The blade is made from CPM MagnaCut. One of the most talked-about steels in 2021 and 2022. Many feel this type of steel is 'perfect'. Quite the statement. But they are right. It is a stainless type of tool steel. With a comparable toughness and sharpness retention of carbon steels such as CPM-CruWear, CPM-4V and Vanadis 4. The corrosion resistance is also sublime. Better than the popular stainless types of steel such as CPM S110V, CPM S45VN and Böhler M390. If that is not perfection, we don't know what is!

The LionSteel M4 comes with a right-handed leather belt sheath. The maximum belt width for this sheath is 8.0 cm.

Sehr schönes und sauber verarbeitetes Messer. Sammlerstück!… Für mich jedoch zu klein der Griff.

Sehr gut verarbeitetes "Allzweckmesser" aus Magnacut, dass in der Küche, aber auch in der Natur alle wichtigen Eigenschaften mitbringt. Die optisch ansprechenden Griffschalen aus Olivenholz sind nicht nur ein Hingucker, sondern auch ein angenehmer Handschmeichler. Insgesamt wirkt das Messer aufgrund seiner Größe in Verbindung mit den hellen Naturschalen überhaupt nicht bedrohlich, sondern eher wie ein sehr robustes Taschenmesser, dass auch immer einen Platz im Rucksack findet.

Mein viertes Feststehendes von LionSteel, die Verarbeitungsqualität ist hervorragend, wie auch bei den anderen.

Habe mich für die MagnaCut-Version entschieden, weil mich der Blog Knife Steel Nerds und das Buch Knife Engineering des Stahlentwicklers Dr. Larrin Thomas beeindruckt haben. 

Ist die Sonderedition den Mehrpreis wert? Qualitativ nicht, denn auch der Stahl der anderen LionSteel ist gefühlt genau so gut. Dennoch freue ich mich, diese limitierte Edition in meine Sammlung aufgenommen zu haben, zumal rein optisch der Kontrast von Olivenholzgriff und schwarzem Leder ansprechend ist. Irgendwie auch sehr italienisch, in dem Mut zum Auffälligen.

Je nach Perspektive also möglicherweise überteuert, aber auf jeden Fall ein hervorragendes Messer.

Das M5 hatte ich bereits, als Messer für Großwild möglicherweise besser. Als so genanntes Bushcraft-Messer ist das M4 aber von der Klingengeometrie und der Handhabbarkeit her deutlich besser - wenn auch nur meine zweite Wahl nach dem B40/41.
