The **Maserin Scout** is a practical and compact EDC pocket knife. The first thing you notice is the stunning coloured micarta handle. Micarta is comprised of layers of canvas with epoxy which is compressed under high pressure. This leaves you with a very sturdy and beautiful handle material. Interesting about micarta is that it can become darker after use. It is the result of the oils in your hand that form a sort of patina. Getting tired of this dark colour? Simply degrease it with some petrol and the micarta will be almost as good as new again.

 The Scout is enhanced with a slipjoint-mechanism. With a slipjoint the blade won't lock when opened. As such the Scout is legal to carry in almost every country! You can easily open the Scout with the nailnick. Like classic slipjoints this knife has a half-stop. This means that halfway the blade needs to be pushed over an additional 'threshold'. This functions as an additional safety mechanism. If the blade accidentally closes during use, it will stop halfway through. Better safe than sorry! The blade is made from D2-steel. A strong type of steel that can handle quite a lot. Do, however, make sure you properly clean the blade. D2 is not completely stainless.

 Considering the lower price range the Maserin Scout is also great as a gift to a loved one.

I ordered this version of the Maserin Scout with green Micarta scales as a birthday gift for a friend and thus I only handled it briefly. Nevertheless, it left an impression well above average: a traditional camping folder, similar to what is called in Spain 'navaja campera', in a modern guise. The fit and finish are what I came to expect from this respected manufacturer from Maniago. 
In short, you get a simple, no-frills folder, shaped like your grandfather's but with modern QC and materials. 

I'll be honest, ordering international for the 1st time was a bit nervewracking at 1st(I'm in California, USA), but, in less than a week, I received the product I ordered and I am more than pleased with my entire experience with your company. Please send my regards to your entire team and I will not hesitate to purchase from you all again. Thanks again!

Het gevoel bij open en dichtklappen van het mes is top. Zeer degelijk en vertrouwd, mede dankzij de stop halverwege.
Micarta is mooi genoeg maar vrij glad. Ik heb soorten gezien die wat ruwer zijn, dat vind ik persoonlijk fijner. Redelijk Scherp uit de doos, beter dan vele andere messen die ik ook gekocht heb.
Deze gekocht als geschenk maar ik koop er denk ik ook een voor mezelf!

J'en suis à mon deuxième et je pense acheter la version avec manche en bois, tellement que ce couteau est excellent. 
La lame en D2 est rasoir et la prise en main est géniale.
