This **Naniwa Chocera Pro sharpening kit** is the perfect set for everyone who wants to make sure their knives are and stay sharp. The set is comprised of three stones with which you can maintain all your knives. The set contains the Naniwa Chocera Pro Stones with the following grain sizes: 400, 1000 and 3000. 

## Naniwa Chocera Pro Collection

The Naniwa Chocera Pro collection is the improved version of the Naniwa Chosera Stones. Naniwa improved the binding agent for the sharpening stones. What is unique is that Naniwa itself produces this binding agent. It is important that this is optimally matched to the grain size. The result is that the Naniwa water stones are better than most sharpening stones produced by other brands, even though the grain size is similar.

## How to use Naniwa Chocera Pro Stones

The Chocera Pro Stone is made on the basis of bound magnesium. This is a superior production method that ensures the quality of the stones are unparalleled. The Chocera Pro Stones hardly absorb any water to make sure you only have to add some water before use. They don't have to be submerged in water. After use, it is key the stones properly dry at room temperature. Don't allow them to dry on the heater! Once dried store them in a dry, dark place. As such you prevent small cracks.

## About Japanese grain sizes

Sharpening stones are available in different grain sizes. The larger the number, the finer the grain. The finer the grain, the sharper the results. When you start sharpening you start with the coarse grain and continue towards a finer grain. Steps of a factor two to three between the different grain sizes are ideal.

**Indication for choosing the right sharpening stone:**

  * Grain 200 to 600: suited to restore the edge of blunt knives

  * 800 to 1000: to sharpen and maintain knives that are in good condition

  * Grain 2000 to 3000: for sharper results than upon delivery

  * Grain 5000 to 12000: for razor-sharp results

The stones are amazing, and the 3000 grit gives a cool mirrored finish to the edge.
Altho i must say i was expecting the 400 to be a bit more coarse, it does grind the material quite well.
in any case, this is my first set of stones and first time doing manual sharpening, so... do whatever you want with that info.

Après passages successifs , ces 3 pierres remplissent parfaitement leur rôle. J’en suis complètement satisfait.

bel ensemble de pierres. J´ai une expérience confirmée dans l´aiguisage des ciseaux à bois, donc j´apprends encore à toutes les sessions. J´ai cependant pu obtenir un tranchant rasoir sur ma lame de rabot, donc je confirme que les pierres peuvent fournir un rendu très satisfaisant.
La pierre de 400 ne permet pas de reprendre des profils trop abimés, mais est très efficace sinon.
Les pierres ont une bonne glisse et ne se dégradent pas dans mon cas; à noter que je ne les immerge pas mais les asperge avec un simple pulvérisateur (je n´ai pas eu de mousse verte sur la pierre de 1000 comme dans certaines video du net).

amazing set of ceramic sharpening stones,  they are spash and go, for the first time its suggested to have them sit in water for 1-2m they perform better, thick and very slow wearing stone, they cuts very fast, i have set bevels like 5  pocket knives removed about 2mm of steel each one with the 400 grit and used about 1mm of the stone that is 20mm thick, very happy with the performance, recomended for beginners and pros.

Vengo da pietre economiche cinesi che devono essere immerse 15 minuti prima di affilare.
L'esperienza d'uso è completamente diversa, le dimensioni maggiori della pietra, la qualità e l'uniformità... tutta un'altra vita!
È vero che costano molto di più, ma a mio avviso la differenza di qualità si sente tutta!
