When you notice that your knife is becoming blunt a 1000 grit sharpening stone is the perfect way to make sure your knife becomes sharp again. Are you planning on sharpening a pocket knife or outdoor knife you use on a daily basis? If so, this 1000 grit sharpening stone is enough to sharpen these knives, but also to make sure they stay sharp. This sharpening stone works according to the Splash & Go principle. Simply put: add a splash of water and you are good to go. The sharpening stone is made from top-quality aluminium oxide to make sure it will last a lifetime, is easy to use and will provide you with the best results. 

## Splash & Go

To extend the life of the stones they are made from top-quality aluminium oxide. This quickly removes material and only slowly wears out. Because of this abrasive and a special cohesive agent these sharpening stones have another massive advantage. The sharpening stones work with the Splash & Go principle. Add a splash of water and you can get started. You no longer have to submerge the stones in water before use. It is, however, important to make sure the sharpening stone stays wet during use. 

The name might suggest you are sharpening on glass. That is not the case. The base of the sharpening stones is enhanced with a glass sheet. This sheet ensures that the sharpening stone won't bend and will last even longer. The glass also ensures you can use the stone to its full extent. Even as the stone has gotten thinner after years of use. 

## Grain size

The Skerper Glass Stones collection is comprised of four stones with a grain size ranging from coarse to ultra-fine. The 400 grit sharpening stone is perfect when sharpening a damaged of blunt knife. You use the 1000 grit sharpening stone to make sure blunt knives become sharp again. The 3000 grit sharpening stone turns sharp knives into razor-sharp knives. Finally, there is a 6000 grit sharpening stone for those who feel razor-sharp is still not sharp enough.

Sehr schöner Stein um Stumpf gewordenen, aber ansonsten heilen Schneiden eine sehr schöne, gleichmässige Phase zu geben mit einem sehr homogenen Schleifbild. Dies erleichtert einem die weitere Bearbeitung auf feineren Steinen enorm sowie auch das abziehen und polieren auf dem Leder. Übrigens an die kleinen Bushcraft Indianer und Menschen die sich nicht unbedingt damit rasieren und mit ihrem Messer chirurgische Eingriffe vornehmen. Nach diesem Stein direkt auf´s Leder und grinsend in den Wald gehen, ihr habt danach eine für eure Tätigkeiten mehr als ausreichend scharfe Klinge die, weil ihr sie nicht ganz so hochfein geschärft und poliert habt, noch am schneiden ist wenn eure Stammesbrüder schon wieder am schleifen sind^^.

De steen is heel zacht , het is gewoon onmogelijk om hier mee een mes te slijpen ! Ik heb heel veel ervaring met slijpen van messen en zulle slechte steen heb ik nog nooit gehad

De steen slijpt niet masr maak je mes stomper
Je mes snijd gewoon in de steen omdat het zo zacht is de steen 

Den 400er habe ich noch nicht benutzt aber die Verarbeitung des ganzen Sets ist super. Einfach Wasser drauf und los geht es mit dem schleifen. Kann man nur empfehlen.
