The **Vulkanus Classic Generation 2** is the plastic version of the new generation of Vulkanus knife sharpeners. The performances of this knife sharpener have been optimized even further. The sharpening parts were updated in terms of material and form and the sharpening angle was extended from 11 to 21 degrees. In addition, you can easily exchange the sharpening elements if need be. But that is not all. The springs are hidden and their compression force has increased considerably. The Vulkanus Professional Generation 2 excels in terms of speed and simplicity. Pulling your knife a couple of times through the V-shaped slot will leave you with a sharp edge.

 The function is based on two cross-shaped rectangular rods of carbide that 'add' a new edge to your knife, as it were. Because both rods are spring-loaded they can follow almost any knife, always using the right angle.

 Please note: this pull-through sharpener is easy to use, but will remove a lot of material. When sharpening expensive (kitchen) knives we advise you to use [Japanese sharpening stones](/en/ct/sharpening-stones-and-whetstones.htm). With these stones your results will be better and it will be better for the lifespan of your knife.

Très simple à utiliser: attention toutefois à bien regarder les vidéos qui montrent les bons gestes. 
J'ai passé un couteau un peu émoussé (acier allemand X50CrMoV15) qui ne passait pas le test de la feuille de papier. Je l'ai affûté puis effilé et enfin poli, le tout avec ce même outil en suivant les conseils de la vidéo. Le résultat était très efficace et surtout rapide! Mes couteaux coupent comme au premier jour. Je recommande donc cet outil. A noter que j'imaginais l'appareil plus gros, il est en fait assez petit

Cet article fait le job et je peux à nouveau émincer des oignons par exemple très facilement. 
Un professionnel demandera sans doute un meilleur résultat mais pour un usage courant dans la vie de tous les jours c’est parfait.

achat pour un cadeau ayant moi même un Vulkanus tout en métal N°=108.Malheureusement pour les deux types, les pièces détachées pour changer les pastilles carbure et ressorts ne semblent plus exister....
C'est dommage ce genre de détail est important pour recommander ou continuer à recommander et commander dans une enseigne qui semblait sérieuse! si je me trompe, merci de me l'indiquer.
