The **Yoshiharu KL-6 Maruichi set** is a set of Japanese gouges. These gouges have a longer handle, so you can hold them like a pencil and work really precisely with them. They are typical, traditional Japanese gouges, made for making wood engravings. But they are also suitable for other forms of woodworking. This set comes in a sturdy plastic case. The set is supplied with a plastic 'baren'. You use this to iron the paper on the carved woodblock to make an etching. The case also contains an elastic that you can use to close the case firmly. The elastic is a bit tough at first, but it gets easier with use.

    The gouges are made from an unknown stainless steel. Ideal for normal use or if you're just starting out with (Japanese) woodworking. It's cheaper to buy than carbon steel.

The handle is made from magnolia wood. This wood feels wonderfully soft and provides plenty of grip.

Yoshiharu produces traditional gouges and wood carving knives. The company is over one hundred years old and was originally founded in Tokyo, Japan. It is a small company with just 45 employees. And part of the production is actually still done by hand. Cool, traditional tools that are absolutely timeless.
