My husband was delighted with his Xmas present, he read all about it, admired the craftsmanship and showed it off to everyone who visited. He subsequently put it back in its box and declared it too good to use. Unbeknownst to him I have been using it almost daily and am loving it. I’m even considering buying him another one in the range for his birthday!!

A lovely item, as expected. I'd seen several YouTube reviews, so knew what it'd be like. My particular knife's wood handle patternation was a little plane on one side, but it's a natural product so can't really complain if not perfect. The blade's demascus appearance is gorgeous. I can't comment on long term, as I've only been using it a week or so upon being asked to review. I've only given it 4 stars on value for money, as an expensive knife IS an epensive knife!

I already have two Miyabi knives - Black Label with black ash shafts - Sujihiki and Shotoh. This Santuko supplements them and its magnificent, perhaps even more attractive than those two which are more expensive. The Santuko looks fantastic, the shaft has a great tactile feel, the blade almost ignores the object it cuts - suddenly you are through! The balance is also perfect. Well, in short, this is a magnificent knife, very versatile and for some it could become the favourite all-purpose knife.
