The **Casström No. 14 Swedish Forest Knife** is the bigger version of the popular Casström No. 10. When you hold this knife you immediately notice the amazing ergonomics. This knife feels amazing in hand! Casström designed this knife as an all-round outdoor knife for heavy-duty use. Hunting, fishing, bushcraft: this knife can handle it all. With its longer blade, this knife is better suited for splitting wood.




The blade of the Casström No. 14 SFK 13403 Green Micarta, bushcraft knife measures 14.2 cm in length and 4.3 mm in thickness. The total length is 26 cm.



## A8mod-steel blade

The blade is 14.2 cm cm in length and made of A8mod steel, a tough type of steel that contains chromium, molybdenum and vanadium. It's tougher than both Sleipner and 14C28N, so the blade is less likely to chip. As a result, A8mod is perfect for heavy-duty use. In addition to having a great sharpness retention, this steel is also easy to sharpen in the field with a [simple sharpening stone](/en/pt/-skerper-pocket-stone-diamond-ceramic-sharpening-stone-so003.htm).

Even though this steel is not entirely stainless, it's still fairly corrosion resistant. Please be sure to clean the knife after use, dry it well, and apply some oil in moist conditions.



This knife has a scandi grind. As the name somewhat suggests, this method of sharpening originated in Scandinavia. A scandi edge excels at wood carving, which is why it is a popular choice for bushcraft knives. ## Micarta handle 
The handle of the Casström No. 14 SFK 13403 Green Micarta, bushcraft knife is made of micarta. This is a composite material made of fabric and synthetic resin.
