The **Casström Safari** was designed as a compact hunting knife for smaller game. We do, however, feel it is also perfect as a fixed EDC knife. In terms of size and finish the Safari is truly a very beautiful knife.

 The Casström Safari was designed by Alan Wood. This British knife maker has quite the reputation. He is mostly known for his cooperations with Ray Mears. The amazing performances and ergonomics are definitely not coincidental: Wood knows what he is doing.

 The blade is made from Swedish Sandvik 14C28N-steel. Stainless and easy to sharpen. Incredibly practical. The handle is, as you know from Casström, very comfortable. Even during long-term use it will feel great in hand. We appreciated the fact that you can have a lot of control over the relatively short blade.

 The handle is made from G10. This is an incredibly strong composite material. The *tapered tang* is striking and rare for a production knife. This means that Casström tapered the part of the knife in between the handle towards the end of the handle. This looks great and also ensures that the balance is perfect.

 The Casström Safari comes with a decent kydex sheath. It isn't enhanced with a belt loop but does come with a leather lace to make sure you can also wear it as a neck knife.

I received my knife impressively soon after ordering it. It was very carefully and safely packaged.
I have not had occasion to use the knife yet, but I have high hopes for its capabilities.
The handle is very comfortable to hold and the blade is a good length for food preparation and detailed wood work.
I ordered the synthetic sheath with my knife and it came with a length of processed leather to enable it to be carried around my neck.
All in all, I'm very pleased with the purchase.
