This is a great knife for beginners (children). But teach them about knife safety before handing them any knife, and never leave kids unattended with a knife. It needs a bit of sharpening & polishing to be perfect but considering the price that's more than fine. The handle is great and keeps their hands from sliding on the blade. My daughter uses this one as her bushcraft knife and is very happy with it. I've orderd a few more to use in workshops and they prove to be great value for money.
