The **Narex Engineers File Round 872011** is a classic round second-cut "rat tail" file. The blade is made of high-quality carbon steel, hardened to a hardness of 62 HRC. The handle is made of varnished beech wood and set with brass rings. What stands out about Narex's files is their excellent balance and ergonomics.



## Blade made of carbon steel

The blade of the Narex Engineers File Round 872011, round file, 6x150 mm is made from carbon steel. As the name suggests, this steel has a very high carbon content. Carbon contributes to the sharpness and a significant part of the edge retention. However, carbon steel is not corrosion resistant. It discolours quite easily and can even rust if not properly maintained. The main advantage of carbon steel is that it is very easy to sharpen.
