You use this Shapton Glass Stone sharpening stone set to sharpen your already sharp knives and to make sure they stay sharp. The grain 500 stone is perfect when sharpening blunt knives. The grain 2000 stone helps you sharpen knives that are already relatively sharp. With the 16000 grain you can remove all irregularities and scratches.

Expectations
Excellent value for money! It is worth investing money on those stones rather than having 100 water stones that go off faster and do a slower job. It all depends on the purpose of course. After years of sharpening I have more than happy with those and on top of that, that is a great set for the price paid. highly recommended!

It's still early days yet, but I can conform these stone remove material very quickly. I flattened with a Trend Diamond stone, but it left scratches, so invested in the Shapton Diamond stone
