The teak also ensures that the edge of your knife won't quickly become blunt!

## Cleaning your cutting board

To make sure your cutting board stays in great shape you need to maintain it! Fortunately this isn't as much work as you might think. Clean the board after use by holding it under a tap and dry it with a towel. The cutting board is not dishwasher safe. Place the board upright (or hang it) to make sure it dries properly.

## Adding oil to your cutting board

Wooden cutting boards need to be maintained. To make sure the cutting board stays in great shape we recommend adding a coat of oil before use. It makes the cleaning process easier, the wood won't dry out, and it ensures that scratches are less visible. It is best to use a flavourless and fragrance-less oil. Almond or grape seed oil, for instance. (Please note: we do not recommend using almond oil if you are allergic to nuts). White mineral oil is also possible, but we recommend using [Eden cutting board oil](/en/pt/-eden-essentials-mineral-oil-for-wooden-cutting-boards-120-ml.htm). Don't use olive oil because it will become sticky. Something you, of course, want to avoid. Add a coat of oil once a month.
