This **Wüsthof knife magnet** is comprised of a solid wooden 'strip' enhanced with a magnet. This magnet is softer than a 'normal' knife magnet to make sure you won't damage your knives. And because the strip is magnetic knives can be attached to it wherever you like.

## Knife magnet made from thermally treated beech wood

The wood of this knife magnet is made from thermally treated beech wood. This wood is insensitive to stretching and shrinking. The wood is 'baked' at a temperature between 180 and 220 degrees, giving it its dark, fancy look and feel. The wood is completely impregnated by the treatment, making it impervious to water. 

Exactly how many knives you can hang on the magnet also depends on the sizes of the knives. In general this magnetic strip has enough room for approx. 7 knives. Need a little more room for your knives? Simply add a second magnet!

The distance between the attachment points at the back of the magnet are spaced 32 cm apart

The magnet is a little weak, but it holds my knives and none have moved. The heavy Wusthof shears do slip a little, but the bump on the apex is located ideally to stop the slipping off the strip...
