The **Amare Duro Expedition Convex 202003** is a cool outdoor knife, designed by Uli Hennicke. At first glance the Duro Expedition looks like a great, but slightly standard outdoor knife. Until you take a closer look: that is when you see the amazing convex grind. This grind ensures that the Duro Expedition is amazing to use, something you will immediately notice during wood work, carrying out bushcraft tasks or while hunting.



Many knives are enhanced with a flat or hollow grind. The Duro Expedition is enhanced with a convex grind. In one line from the spine of the blade towards the edge, without a secondary V-edge. As such you don't have a 'shoulder' at the edge that usually provides cutting resistance. As such cutting feathersticks will be a piece of cake. We often come across this grind on much more expensive knives. As such Amare is able to offer you an excellent knife for a great price.



The blade is made from K110. You don't hear that often. And yet it is an old acquaintance: similar to D2 steel, but made in Austria by Böhler. Tough, retains its sharpness and is easy to sharpen. Do, however, be careful for rust: K110 is not as corrosion resistant as some stainless types of steel. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can maintain by [stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).



The handle is made from warm rosewood. A very hard type of wood with a stunning pattern and premium look and feel. The sheath is made from Italian leather. The sheath is not treated which means it will become darker in time. A such it will become unique!

Great knife. Feels really solid and is very capable. I've used it for general outdoor stuff in the woods, including batoning fire wood. I high recommend. Feels like you get a lot of knife for your money's worth. Nice sheath as well.

Un très beau couteau, solide et fiable. Beau design, excellente prise en main, il coupe très bien, même pour la cuisine, son épaisseur de lame n'empêchant pas du tout les coupes fines. 
L'étui en cuir naturel est vraiment très beau également et parfaitement ajusté. 
C'est un plaisir d'avoir ce bel ensemble à la ceinture pour une sortie en pleine nature.
Peut être un petit "moins" pour les plaquettes du manche qui ne sont pas complètement bien ajustées par endroit, mais c'est vraiment très très léger et ne retire rien à la qualité du couteau.
