This **BeaverCraft Comfort Bird Carving Hobby Kit DIY01** is a set for the amateur wood carver. It contains everything you need to get started with wood carving. A versatile wood carving knife, basswood and cherry wood, strop and even instructions for a successful start!



A Comfort Bird is a smooth bird that is nice to hold in hand. Fun to carve! This set contains two blocks of wood: one basswood block and one cherry wood block. Start with the basswood block (the light-coloured block) for practice. Afterwards you use the cherry wood block (the dark-coloured block). A little more difficult to carve, but it does look amazing!

## About the wood carving knife


The blade is made from fine carbon steel. Easy to sharpen and very tough. As such it will bend sooner than it will break, in case something goes wrong. Better safe than sorry! Keep in mind that carbon steel is not stainless. So don't store it while still wet. A couple drops of oil once in a while will make sure the blade stays in great shape.



The handle is made from ash wood. A strong type of wood that is also used for axe handles. The ergonomics of all BeaverCraft tools is great. But the good thing about wood carving knives is that you can always modify the handle yourself. To make it your own!

Alles wat je nodig hebt zit in dit pakket. Mijn eerste houtsnijwerk (geen ervaring) heel leuk geworden! 

Great for the beginner wittler. have all the tools you need (almost all, you need to get some glue yourself)


I bought this for my 9 year old daughter and she loves it. It's a great starter kit and it looks like we'll be buying more tools soon!

This diy kit is really great if you want to start with wood carving.

We measure the sharpening angle ourselves. This value is the angle per side.  So 20º means that the total angle of the edge is 40º. Please note that knives are almost always sharpened by hand, even in factories. This value is therefore only an indication of a single tool measured by us.
