The Böker Kihon Bifold 42a 110313, Stonewashed CPM MagnaCut, Black Stainless Steel pocket knife, Lucas Burnley design is a nice EDC pocket knife in the colour black. With its blade length of 8.1 cm, this knife is ideal for easy carrying. When closed, it's only 10.7 cm long, and it weighs 77 g.



You open the Böker with two hands. To make this easier, there's a nail nick which gives you a little extra grip using your fingernail. A back lock has been chosen for the locking mechanism. On the back of the handle, you press the back spring to unlock the blade.



## Blade made of CPM Magnacut steel
The blade of this Böker  is made of CPM Magnacut steel, possibly the most revolutionary steel of the 21st century. MagnaCut offers an unrivalled balance between sharpness retention, toughness, corrosion resistance and ease of sharpening. Since the release of CPM MagnaCut in 2021, it has become one of the most popular steels in the world of knives. The MagnaCut blade of this pocket knife measures 8.1 cm in length.

## History of CPM Magnacut 
This type of steel was developed by Dr Larrin Thomas, a metallurgist who has dedicated his career to improving knife steel. He is the son of Devin Thomas, a famous damascus smith who supplied Chris Reeve Knives with steel for many years. Dr Larrin Thomas works in the automotive industry but is passionate about knife steels. He thought it should be possible to do better, and together with Crucible Industries came up with CPM MagnaCut. The ‘stonewash’ process was chosen for the finish of this blade. The stonewash process involves the blade being placed inside a drum with ceramic stones, or media, and then vibrated or tumbled for several hours. The result is a finish that looks precisely polished or roughened depending on the version. The advantage of stonewashing, however, is that signs of use are much less noticeable. That makes it a popular choice for knives that see a lot of use.

Sehr flaches Taschenmesser und verschwindet in der Hose, ohne irgendwie zu stören. Es ist aus der Box scharf genug, um sich damit die Haare am Arm zu rasieren. Obst oder Gemüse zu schnipseln macht wirklich Spaß. Es ist ein kleiner Schneidteufel. Insgesamt finde ich den Preis gerechtfertigt, weil man dafür ein wertiges Messer mit einem Premiumstahl erhält. Ich würde das Messer sofort nochmals kaufen!

Excellent EDC avec une lame rasoir en magnacut. Comme son nom l'indique (KIHON qui veut dire minimaliste, ou basique) il est simple mais très efficace. Léger, il se fait oublier dans la poche. Pour moins de 90 euros je suis très satisfait de mon achat.

Vraiment un bon petit canif, parfait lorsqu'il s'agit de ne pas effrayer les collègues au restaurant. Un acier de snob, des ajustages et des finitions au top, et un encombrement de type "se glisse littéralement dans ton porte feuilles".

C'est beau, c'est solide, c'est pratique, c'est bien conçu.
C'en est presque dommage que ça provienne du mauvais côté du Rhin.
