The **Condor Selknam Knife 3921-5.1HC** is an all-round, complete outdoor knife. Its obvious use is as a bushcraft knife, but you can also use it for survival or even for hunting. The blade's convex grind is a nice feature. This means it has a strong edge, but is also able to slice really nicely. We recommend stropping the blade to maintain the edge.



The blade of the Condor Selknam Knife is made from 1075 carbon steel. This is a strong steel that is easy to sharpen, and can also take quite a beating. 1075, however, is not completely stainless, so you need to clean it regularly and add a drop of oil once in a while. The knife has a strong full-tang construction. This means that the thickness of the blade runs throughout the entire handle. There is a dimple on the side of the handle so that you can use it with a bow drill. On the spine there is also a sharp edge for scraping a firesteel, and the Condor Selknam knife even comes with a semicircular firesteel that you can use to tap a flint and create sparks. The sheath has a special holder for this, and a pouch for storing some tinder or a sharpening stone.



The handle is made from micarta. Part of the tang sticks out at the end of the handle, allowing you to use this part as a kind of improvised hammer. The Condor Selknam Knife comes in a sturdy leather sheath with a belt loop.

Das Selknam auf dem Papier DAS Survivalmesser schlechthin.
Die Lederscheide sehr durchdacht, etwas steif vielleicht, ein wenig Öl  und es ist bald wieder geschmeidig...
Das Messer sehr solide und die features richtigt klasse, Bei dem Modell handelt es sich um die Version 2 mit seitlichem Flachschliff und eine robusten Sekundärfase zur Schneide, keinen Konvexschliff.
Nun zu den kleinen Flaws sie das Messer hat.
Klinge: der Schliff ging nicht weit genug zum Griffende, habe ich weiter nach hinten nachgeschliffen, schade dass hier eine Schleifkerbe eingearbeitet wurde...
Griff: eigentlich sehr ergonomisch, Beim Choppen jedoch wenn man das Messer weiter hinten angreift ist das Ende nicht so optimal gestaltet. Eine Lanyard wird unbedingt empfohlen, das schmale Griffende und der chrusher ist aber richtig suboptimal fürs choppen.
Der vordere Teil des Griffes beim Zeigefinger (die fingerchoil) sehr scharfkantigausgeführt, auch oben bei der Daumenrampe sehr gratig verarbeitet. --> Hier unbedingt noch mit einem Sandpapier drübergeben und die Kanten brechen. Auch der gesamte Messerrücken ist sehr scharfkantig, ist zwar gut zum Feuerstahl anreißen geeignet aber wozu ist denn dann die Ausnehmung am Griff dafür vorgesehen???
Insgesamt das Messer kein chopper. Egal wo man es anfaßt es hat keinen richtigen Zug und beißt nicht richtig, es ist einfach zu kurz.
Batonieren: Die Klinge ist ja recht kurz, Batonieren ist schwierig, nur für dünnere Äste geeignet.
Bohren und feinere Arbeiten: Durch die Form mit dem großen Bauch an der Schneide sehr schwer möglich.
Slicen/Essenszubereitung: Dadurch dass die Klinge kurz und dick ist ist es kein Genuss Tomaten damit zu schneiden. ich habe den Schliff etas spitzwinkeliger nachgeschliffen und auch die rauh geschliffenen Klingenspiegel fein nachgeschliffen.
Mein Fazit: ein interessantes Messer(chen) das ansatzweise gute features bietet aber für den Gebrauch doch noch etwas Pflege und Zuwendung benötigt damit es besser zur Hand geht. Die fehlende Länge damit es ein besserer chopper und batonierer wird kann man leider nicht nachbessern, daher etwas verhaltene Bewertung von meiner Sicht, es fehlen 5cm.



Que dire de plus, tout est déjà résumé par les 5 étoiles attribuées. Beau couteau, belle finition et bon rapport qualité prix.
Pas encore utilisé, donc je ne peux pas donner d'avis sur sa capacité à résister aux activités parfois exigeantes du bushcraft.
Superbe étui en cuir qui, c'est dommage, manque cruellement de souplesse. À huiler ou graisser absolument.

Cuchillo muy cómodo en la mano y muy potente en trabajo duro. Buen filo de casa, aunque podría mejorarse. Funda con buen diseño y comodidad, aunque el cuero y terminaciones son mejorables. En mi opinión hay pocos cuchillos por calidad precio que sean superiores. Un acierto la compra, y animo a todo el mundo que lo quiera a hacerse con uno antes de que se dispare el precio.

Buon coltello, arriva non perfettamente affilato, personalmente trovo poco utile la porzione di manico da utilizzare come striker sul ferrocerio. Ottime le proporzioni, peccato per la parte finale del manico adibito a skull crusher che rende poco comoda la presa inversa (o all'inglese). 
Nota estremamente positiva è il fodero
