Are your knives in need of sharpening?

The Coticule 'Selected' sharpening stone is comprised of a top layer of Coticule and a bottom layer of unusable black slate. The Coticule stone has a grit between 6000 and 8000 and contains 30 to 42% garnets. This makes the stone very hard. As such your knives will be razor-sharp again in no time. Because of the fine structure of the stone the fold of the sharpened knife will be smooth leaving you with razor-sharp results. Many people use the Coticule stones to sharpen their classic straight razor. 

The Coticule has a yellow-white colour with sometimes a red and green glow. 'Selected' offers a homogeneous stone while the 'Standard' comes with some visible beauty flaws or natural discolourations. This, however, won't affect the qualities of the stone. However, because of the delicate edge we recommend using a Coticule Selected Stone when sharpening a straight razor. 

Coticule sharpening stones are natural products. They are modified by hand. As such small differences in shape and size cannot be ruled out.

Zeer goede steen, maar ik had een langere versie (20 cm) moeten nemen.

Een echt mooie Coticule, voor een prijs die je bij de fabrikant niet krijgt. Degene die ik kreeg is perfect, heel fraai om te zien en slijpt geweldig! Erg tevreden mee. Een Coticule is niet goedkoop, maar laat zich eigenlijk met niets anders vergelijken.

Moins chère sur sur le site http://www.ardennes-coticule.be ( 120 € ), c'est ce qui m'a tenté.
A l'utilisation, cette pierre révèle tout son potentiel, c'est vraiment une pierre polyvalente.
Je l'utilise pour raviver mes coupe-choux.
Cette pierre équivaut à un grain qui va de 6000 (avec une boue ou slurry) à 8000 ( juste avec de l'eau) et de ce fait permet de bien polir le fil des rasoirs.
Je la conseille vivement pour les passionner de coupe-choux.

Endlich ist das Problem des Schärfens der Jagdmesser gelöst. Bisher viele Schärfer, wie Diamantschärfer, Diamantfeile o.ä. verwandt, mit unbefriedigtem Ergebnis. Jetzt werden Messer haarscharf. Schnitthaltigkeit ist gegeben. (Youtubefilm ansehen)
Preis Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Haltevorrichtung (kostenlos beigefügt) eignet sich sehr gut.
Empfehlenswert ist die Wahl eines größeren Steins, da größere Schärffläche zur Verfügung steht und nicht so oft angesetzt werden muß. Insgesamt rechnet sich die Investition, da Stein für einen langen Zeitraum genutzt werden kann.
