The **DMT Whetstone Bench Stone Set** is a three-piece set of diamond-coated sharpening stones. The stones have the following grain sizes: coarse (blue), fine (red), and extra-fine (green). This sharpening stone is supplied in a hardwood box with non-slip feet.

## Information about the grain sizes of DMT sharpening stones.

The grain size of a diamond-coated stone and a water stone cannot easily be compared. This is because the construction and materials used are substantially different. With a water stone, the sharpening grains are incorporated into the stone. These grains are also released from the stone during use and become some kind of sharpening paste. With a diamond-coated stone, the diamonds are secured in the surface of the stone.

## How to use the DMT Whetstone Bench Stone Set

You can use the DMT sharpening stones with or without water. The advantage of sharpening with water is that the stone is lubricated and the sharpening residue is removed. Never use oil, always water. It's also good to know that a diamond-coated sharpening stone needs to be pre-sharpened. A brand-new diamond sharpening stone removes quite a lot of material. Only after 5 to 10 knives does the stone have its final effect.

Les pierres se sont oxydées dès la première utilisation alors que j'affutais mes ciseaux à bois avec simplement de l'eau. Je parle d'une oxydation apparue au bout de 10 min et non une oxydation liée à un mauvais séchage des pierres. Je possède d'autres pierres DMT et j'en suis très content. Ce coffret ne me satisfait pas.
Pour info, j'ai contacté le SAV de Knives and tools et d'après les "experts" le problème viendrait d'"éléments extérieurs". Déçu.

D'une efficacité redoutable et sans  aucun entretien, ces pierres offrent un top rapport qualité prix par rapport à d'autres pierres pour obtenir le même résultat.
