The Esee Izula’s are named after an aggressive ant from the Peruvian jungle. It symbolizes the knife should not be underestimated because of its size! The Izula is a very versatile fixed knife. It can easily be stowed in a bag or can be worn like a necking knife. Despite its size it provides really good grip. The knife has a hole on the back which gives extra grip when you put your pinky through it. Of course you can also make a handle out of paracord to create better grip. ESEE also makes real grip parts should you like that better. Then the knife obviously becomes a bit bigger.


The blade is made out of 1095 carbon steel which ESEE uses a lot. It has sublime cutting properties and can be sharpened easily. Esee has added a black powder coating to the carbon steel blade which helps a lot against corrosion. We do advise to store the knife dry and grease/oil it before putting it away. Just to be sure!


 The Izula comes with a zytel sheath which really holds the knife tightly. The sheath comes with a sturdy steel clip and allows you to attach it to your belt.

Kleines sehr stabiles Messer mit 4mm starker Droppint Klinge durchgehend mit Micarta Griffschalen. Wegen seiner ausgeprägten Fingermulde am Griff ein versehentliches abrutschen der Finger auf die Klingenschneide nicht möglich. Beschichtung wegen der 1095 Carbon Klinge nicht nötig, da sie sich sowieso irgendwann löst. Carbonstahl muss eben gepflegt werden. Scheide stabil aber Kydex wäre vorteilhaft.  Insgesamt ein sehr gutes Messer, es könnte aber ein Tick größer sein (8,5cm große Klinge) und der  Preis ist eindeutig zu hoch  angesetzt. 

Zeer degelijk mes wat niet snel zal breken. Het mes wordt zeer scherp geleverd. Heb het nog niet kunnen gebruiken in outdoor situaties. In de keuken is het lemmet net iets te dik om groente te snijden maar daar heb ik hem ook niet voor gekocht.

Bon petit couteau qui s'affute très facilement et avec une bonne prise en main
