The **Fox Knives FX-140XL MI Green Canvas Micarta Knivesandtools Exclusive** is a large fixed knife, designed by German knife maker Markus Reichart. His knives are meant to be used. Functionality is paramount. You can clearly see that in this knife. All shapes, finishes and materials are carefully thought through.

This is a special edition of the Fox Knives FX-140XL. It's a Knivesandtools Exclusive! That means this version was made especially for Knivesandtools, and sold exclusively on our website.

The blade is made from Niolox steel. A German type of tool steel that is fairly stainless but when exposed to salt and acids can stain a little. When it comes to sharpness retention Niolox is similar to D2 steel, but it is more resistant against chipping. It has a fine structure and it is easy to sharpen. The large blade is no less than 5 mm thick. As such, this knife is perfect for the more demanding use. For example, batoning wood or other tasks.

For this Knivesandtools Exclusive, we chose a handle made of green canvas micarta. Looks amazing and it offers you a lot of grip. The shape of the handle makes sure your hand won't move during use. A great detail is the micarta that runs all the way to the beginning of the blade. Very user-friendly. The end of the handle is enhanced with a lanyard hole to attach a piece of paracord. You can carry the Fox Knives FX-140XL in the stunning, black leather sheath.

Das Messer gefiel mir eigentlich sehr gut. Aber eine der Griffschalen war nicht richtig verklebt. Man konnte ein Stück Papier zwischen Griffschale und Erl schieben. Bei dieser Preisklasse ist das für mich nicht tolerierbar. Daher schickte ich das Messer auch zurück.

Le couteau est tout à fait splendide. A l'usage, il correspond exactement à mes attentes. Il est solide, tranchant et il s'adapte a toutes les situations. Idéal pour le bushcraft ou la survie. La forme de la lame est pour moi idéal même si je pense que l'on pourrait lui retiré un bon centimètre.
En revanche l’étui n'est vraiment pas bon, indigne d'un couteau de ce prix. A réception, le couteau n'entrait pas dans l’étui, le cuir était collé de l’intérieur, il a fallu que je j'assouplisse le cuir et le décolle ce qui a un peu abimé l’étui. En un regard on voit tout de suite que l’étui ne tiendra pas le coup bien longtemps, le cuir est de mauvaise qualité et assez fin. Fox knives faites un effort car l’étui nuit grandement à la réputation de votre couteau de de votre firme, pour ce prix c'est inacceptable. Jetez un œil sur les étui de Lionsteel si jamais vous avez besoin d'inspiration.

Für grobe Arbeiten gut geeignet. Für das Tragen am Gürtel zu groß.
Ist ein Messer für den Rucksack oder im Lager.
Für unterwegs habe ich die kleinere Version das FX-105 MB. Das ist besser für den Allround Einsatz, Gleicher Stahl, Griff und Schneidengeometrie, wirkt aber etwas klobig durch die dicke Klinge.

Geweldig mes. Het dikkere lemmet (5mm) maakt het uiterst geschikt voor het zwaardere werk en geeft geen krimp bij stevig hakken.
De minaret handgreep heeft een zeer praktische vorm waardoor het mes zonder moeite stevig en veilig kan worden vastgehouden, ook bij het ruwere werk. De gaten in het handvat laten toe om een bijkomende beveiliging met koord aan te brengen. Het handvat heeft een goede grip zonder te ruw te zijn om zonder handschoenen lang mee te werken. Ondanks de grootte van het mes, laat de goede vormgeving van het handvat toe om ook kleinere en meer precisie werkjes uit te voeren.
Het mes wordt goed scherp geleverd en blijft ook goed scherp na zwaarder hakwerk.
Het lemmet is voorzien van een mooi bescheiden Fox logo.
De lederen schede is prachtig afgewerkt en heeft eveneens een Fox logo ingedrukt, alsook op de drukknop van het veiligheidsslot.
 Een echte aanrader als buchcraft- of survivalmes !
