This **Hultafors Mini Trekking axe** is the perfect compact axe that is easy to take with you, or for smaller tasks in the garden. It comes with a leather sheath that protects the cutting edge. 

## Axe head

The axe head is forged from Swedish axe steel. The edge is hardened to make sure it is strong enough to stay sharp without breaking, but can also be sharpened. Basically everything you like to see in an axe head.

## Axe handles

Hultafors uses American hickory wood for the handles. This type of wood is exceptional in absorbing blows without breaking. As such it is perfect as a handle for hammers and, of course, axes.

Great camp axe/hatchet. Would highly recommend.

After 2 months of frequent use:
Fits well in a backpack for camping, came sharp out of the box, holds an edge very well, is able to split horizontally and vertically effectively as it bites and splits wood very well for its compact size. Axe can be choked up on well for more controlled carving tasks without an unbalanced feel compared to longer handled axes.
In general, I believe this axe/hatchet offers great value for the money, it is a quality tool and feels great to use.

Would highly recommend if you are looking for an axe for camping/bushcraft that is effective for the job with a classic and quality feel/look.

Recommendations:
Clean and oil the axe/hatchet handle after use after the first few sessions of using it.
Ensure the head is cleaned from dirt and later thinly oiled to prevent rust building up.

This hachett is the right size to do those small jobs that require you to cut up small branches and the like.
