The **Morakniv Companion Spark** is a practical and affordable bushcraft knife, with built-in firesteel. Simply click it out at the end of the handle and you can start making a fire right away.



The name Companion might suggest that this design was based on this famous model. In terms of shape, use of materials and ergonomics it is indeed similar. The blade is made from Swedish Sandvik 12C27-steel. This is a stainless steel that is easy to sharpen. The traditional scandi-edge is great at wood work, and the blade length is just right for many bushcraft tasks.



Mora sharpened the spine of the blade. As a result you can easily use it in combination with a firesteel. The sparks will fly. But also when scraping wood to make tinder this will definitely come in handy.



When you need to rely on a firesteel in the wild it does need to be properly secured. That is why Mora came up with a practical click system. A little turn to the right and it is loose, turn it the other side and you can secure it once again.



The Morakniv Companion Spark comes with a plastic sheath. This sheath has a belt loop with enough room for belts up to 4.5 cm.

C'était un cadeau. Le nouveau propriétaire en est plus que content! 

Die Lieferung erfolgt in der Blisterpackung- Ausgepackt und festgestellt das Messer ist extrem scharf! (Unterarmrasur). Liegt gut in der Hand. Das Stück Repschnur zum Sichern des Feuerstarters habe ich in der Scheide gefunden. Damit lässt sich der Feuerstahl (pragmatisch) sichern. Ich habe versucht mit dem Feuerstahl Feuer zu machen- soviel vorweg: Jeder Meister der vom Himmel gefallen ist, ist tot! Nachdem ich und mehrere Freunde sich daran versucht haben ist es mir (ICH habe Feuer gemacht!) mit Fichtenharz und Birkenrinde gelungen. Durch den feuchten Zunder zuvor ( mehrere Regentage in der Au) hat der Feuerstahl leiden müssen und ist jetzt mehr ein 6- Kant als rund. Dieser verschleisst natürlich durch intensive Verwendung bald, also wird früher oder später ein Ersatzfeuerstahl fällig.
Fazit: Das Gelb des Messergriffs und der Scheide könnte heller sein, zwecks Auffindbarkeit, die Klinge ist ordentlich scharf und stabil, die Scheide einfach und zweckmäßig, der Feuerstarter funktioniert gut. Kein Show-off Messer, zweckmäßig für feineres Bushcraft und leichtes Waidwerk. Eventuell auch das normale Companion und Feuerstahl extra in Betracht ziehen.
