The **Opinel Effilé No. 8 padauk** is an elegant and practical pocket knife. Its narrow blade makes it ideal for tasks like filleting fish and cutting fine, thin slices. ## Opinel Effilé series

Opinel Effilé, formerly the Slim Line, is the new name for this graceful collection of pocket knives from Opinel. Opinel Effilé knives are available in different sizes and with various, luxurious wooden handles! The new logo of the Effilé series is stamped onto the metal bolster. 

## Opinel Effilé Virobloc

The knife has a Virobloc lock, also called a ring lock. With a Virobloc, the hinging of the blade is securely blocked by the ring. This type of locking system requires two hands, which means your fingers are less likely to come near the cutting edge.

## Opinel Effilé type of steel

The blade is made from Sandvik 12C27 steel. This steel is exceptionally corrosion resistant thanks to the addition of chrome, and very durable thanks to the high carbon content. As a result, it's stainless and retains its sharp edge very well. The best of both worlds! In addition, the blade is polished for an extra shiny result. 

## Opinel Effilé padauk

This knife features a handle made from padauk: a reddish brown wood from Central and West Africa. Padouk, also known as African coral wood, is also used for musical instruments and furniture. With its striking red colour, padauk offers not only an attractive aesthetic, but also a durable and resilient structure that can withstand daily use. Please note: prolonged exposure to the sun can discolour the wood. As such, you should always store your knife away from sunlight after use. The slim handle feels great in hand.

## Opinel Effilé maintenance

In order to enjoy your Opinel pocket knife for a long time, maintenance is key. A coat of oil now and then will prevent the wood from drying out and will ensure that it won't lose its colour. Don't forget to grease the locking mechanism too! This keeps the ring running smoothly. You can make the blade razor-sharp again with sharpening stones. Wie immer bei Opinel, Reduktion auf das was wirklich benötigt wird. Sehr gutes Material und Verarbeitung.

Das Messer selbst gefällt mir mit seinem Design etwas besser, als das Standardmodel von Opinel. 

Wer ein schönes EDC für wenig Geld sucht, kommt an diesem Angebot kaum vorbei.

Très joli couteau, fin et élégant, bon tranchant, facile à reprendre.
Le bois du manche est encore plus beau en vrai que sur les photos, belle teinte qui se rapproche de l'acajou avec un très joli grain. Idéal pour déjeuner au boulot.

Mon modèle a toutefois un petit défaut sur la pointe de la lame qui est légèrement voilée, mais c'est presque imperceptible et ne gène aucunement l'utilisation.

L'épaisseur de lame est très fine dans le dernier tiers, et l'acier est plutôt souple ce qui ne le destine donc pas à des coupes en force. C'est vraiment un petit couteau pour la prise de repas, l'ouverture d'enveloppe, etc... Il ne résistera pas a des taches plus lourdes.

Attention : pour les grandes main prendre une taille au dessus, car le N°8 Effilé donne une impression beaucoup plus petite que le N°8 classique.

Très élégant, petit pour un n'8.
Pour les grandes mains préférer le n'10.
Le manche est superbe mais la lame est difficile à sortir malgré plusieurs graissage.
Bref, beau mais pas pratique!
