As an absolute beginner to proper knife sharpening, this represents about the best price/quality balance I could find. I have only two knives of any real quality and I have achieved an edge on both of them that makes them better than new and doesn't look awful. The ceramic steel is a real boon in that you can maintain an edge with an absolute minimum of effort and has sharpened my lesser quality knives to an adequate standard. Overall, I have found this kit to be just about right for my level of expertise and at a price point that justifies buying them.
