DMT Diamond Wave sharpening stone, fine

I bought the 'fine' surface wave. Removes the metal from the outside and inside of carving tools very effectively and quickly, making it a terrific universal slipstone, as well as for the outside edge, which is what I was looking for. Produces edges on carving chisels that after stropping, you can 'shave your arm' with. Great for all gouges, straight and curved. A limitation is that the curvature won't accommodate very large flatter gouges. No messy oil required, though I have found it's better used with water. Used with water its best to dry it off after use, as it can stain the metal if left damp. Comes with a non-slip pad that's very effective, though I haven't solved storing it after use without putting back the protective films on it. A product I'm very pleased with so far. Saves time compared to flat stones, and the diamond surface on this fine form is very effective at removing metal quickly
