DMT DiaSharp Bench Stone 6x2 D6E one-sided, extra-extra fine

First thing i noticed, was a spot of rust on the side of the stone. Ive seen this in DMT reviews, and their products, and honestly thought it was just rare cases. oh well. 2nd, the side of the "stone" has some deep marks, which looks like either it being dropped, or being set in a vice. These marks, are higher than the flat diamond surface, and can/will catch your blade if you dont pay attention. Stone is still usable, but you have to actively avoid that area (luckily its near the end of the stone) Beyond the unpleasant inconsistencies, the sharpening on this stone is great. it does what its supposed to do. easily bringing you to a shiny, sharp knife. it feels like running the blade over a smooth surface, but the SUPER fine black dust left on your fingers show it really do grind off alot of material each pass. I was expecting more from the stone, but dont regret the purchase. Would rate it 6/10
