You use this **Richardson Sheffield Velocity bread knife** for much more than just cutting bread. You can, for instance, use it to cut cakes or hard vegetables or fruit such as melon, pumpkin and celeriac. But, of course, also for all types of bread. From hard to soft crusts, from soft buns to baguettes.

## Blade made from X50CrMoV15 steel

The blades of the knives are made from X50CrMoV15 steel. This is a type of steel that is used often by Western knife manufacturers. When it comes to steel, it is always a balance between strength, flexibility and corrosion resistance. X50CrMoV15 steel can handle rust and is very strong. As such the knives are amazing to use and can be sharpened at a 20-degree angle. This also means that the knife is easy to maintain, thanks to the stainless qualities. In addition, you can also easily sharpen it yourself, if, after some time, it has lost some of its sharpness. The knives are razor-sharp upon delivery. The knife's blade runs all the way through the handle, which is known as full-tang construction. As such the knife is nicely balanced.

## Plastic handle

The Richardson Sheffield Velocity knives are enhanced with a plastic handle. Easy to maintain, you don't really have to pay attention to it. The knife is full-tang. This means that the steel of the blade extends all the way to the end of the handle. It makes the knives rock-solid and also provides you with enough weight and balance. The red liner in between the handle and steel is a nice and stylish accent. According to Richardson Sheffield these kitchen knives are dishwasher proof. Thanks to the plastic handles. We do not recommend it, however. In time the heat and the detergent in the dishwasher can affect the nice shine and colour of the handle. Do you want to enjoy these kitchen knives for a long time? Simply clean them by hand after use.
