The**Hultafors Flint FD firesteel** is pleasant to use in all weather conditions. Forget the fight with matches and bring this Flint with you. Then you are always able to make a fire. With a length of 10 cm and a thickness of 10 mm, the Flint is both ergonomic and efficient. The sparks reach temperatures up to 3000 ℃

 The Hultafors Flint works perfectly on the back of the Hultafors OK1 and OK4 blades, but can of course also be used with other blades. For optimum use the back of the blade is ribbed. The OK1 and OK4 are supplied with a holster with room for the flint. With a fixed knife and the Flint, you are always able to make a fire.

Et bien il est bien costaud ! Rien a voir avec celui vendu dans un magasin de sport et rando bien connu !

Produces large sparks, easy to use and sturdy

Ondertussen de 3e keer dat ik deze firesteel heb besteld. Voor mij precies hoe een firesteel hoort te zijn: klein genoeg om aan de schede van je mes te hangen, maar groot genoeg om serieus vuur mee te maken. De vorige twee firesteel zijn de afgelopen jaren veelvuldig gebruikt op avonturen in de buitenlucht, en doen het nog steeds (al zijn ze wel een stuk dunner/korter). Verder heeft het metaal wat mij betreft de juiste hardheid. Wanneer je schilfers af wil schrapen voor in (vochtige) tondel gaat dat prima. Wil je direct een enorme vonkenregen dan gaat dat ook eenvoudig, zonder dat er direct hele stroken uit je firesteel verdwijnen. Het ontbreken van een schraper is voor mij geen minpunt. Er zijn maar weinig schrapers die ik goed vind werken (vaak een gepriegel om ze goed vast te houden). Ik gebruik daarom in de praktijk de achterkant van mijn mes. Zo heb ik een betere grip en meer controle. En dan is de prijs ook nog heel betaalbaar: Vaak kosten firesteels van dezelfde afmetingen en dezelfde kwaliteit het dubbele of meer.
