The **Hultafors GK Heavy-Duty Knife** is an ultra-sturdy fixed knife. A solid workhorse for tackling bigger jobs. It can really go the distance! It's an ideal knife to have with you during demolition work, for instance. Hultafors itself describes this as a knife for chopping, prying and breaking. We do advise that any damage to the edge as a result of this use is not covered by the warranty.


The blade is made from Japanese carbon steel. This is a sturdy steel that is easy to sharpen. It isn't stainless, though, so take care around moisture and acids. The handle is made from polypropylene. This is a durable plastic that will last for years and years.



The knife comes with a handy sheath so you can carry it on a belt up to 4 cm wide. You can also hang it from a button on your overalls. To do this, unclip the belt loop, slide the button in and then click it into place. Very practical!

The knife arrived completely blunt. It could not cut anything. Also, it had a secondary bevel. I had to spend time sharpening the blade and re-profiling it to a true scandi. Now it is sharp and performs very well.
