I receive this knife and became instantly disappointed. I would like to warn other buyers to NOT FALL INTO THE TRAP OF of buying one of these more expensive models of the LUXURY RANGE, because for example this Olive Wood Luxury range COSTS MORE but have EXACTLY THE SAME BLADE of the cheapest model (if not worst, since it comes in a much cheaper packaging does not offer sufficient protetion to the blade neither to the handle, against moisture, dirt or anything else --- it is not a blister packaging like in the cheaper version -- instead it is just a piece of cheap carboard with an open window). The Luxury Range Olive model DOES NOT come in that dark blue luxury gift box you would see in videos on YouTube and DOES NOT HAVE a better blade with mirror finish. Also the "Opinel" brand is not engraved in the handle, like the cheapest model, which I just noticed after having received it.

Seen this patten of knife in use in N Spain by both horticulturalists and yachties. Then again a gardening pal whipped hers out for a bit of dead heading, so found site and opted for the stainless option(salt water environments). Up till now it's been purely gardening but it's always in use. Easy to get at a good edge on and to lock blade simply open or closed great.

Has not been delivered. Furthermore this company has not delivered on after sales service. The tracking number doesn’t work and their email responses haven’t been helpful. Just dreadful, no knife, no prospect of help with the delivery gone missing. No care at all.

A true design classic. Form and function in splendid balance. My only issue is that I thought I’d ordered the carbon steel version,( Opinel’s steel is superb, and holds a perfect edge). I’ve never had the stainless before, so can’t yet comment. Sharp enough on arrival at any rate.
