 ### Virobloc lock

 The knife has a Virobloc lock, also called a ring lock. With a Virobloc, the hinges of the blade are solidly blocked by the ring. This type of locking system can be operated with two hands, which means that you will be less likely to end up too close to the edge. The ring is often used to lock the knife when closed. And by using oil you also make sure that the ring moves easily.

 ### Type of steel

 The blade is made from carbon steel. The advantage is that the knife can easily be sharpened. Make sure you dry the knife after contact with water or juices. This way you prevent corrosion and you continue to benefit from this beautiful knife!

 ### Blade material

 The handle is made of beech wood, a very strong type of wood which you see with many Opinel handles. Note: the wood may discolour with prolonged exposure to the sun. As such you should always store the knife in a dark place after use.
