Find your perfect Fenix flashlight: sorted by battery type

When choosing a torch, the battery type plays a crucial role. Whether you choose the widely available AA or AAA batteries, the powerful 18650 batteries or the latest 21700 batteries, each type has its own advantages. AA and AAA batteries are ideal for occasional use because of their availability. For more intensive use, 18650 and 21700 batteries offer more power and longer burn time. At Knivesandtools, we have selected Fenix flashlights based on battery type, so you can always find the perfect power source for your specific applications. This ensures optimal performance, regardless of the situation.

Different types of batteries

Fenix flashlights on 18650 batteries have a high capacity and are ideal for intensive use. Most flashlights that run on an 18650 battery also run on multiple CR123A batteries. Fenix is a market leader in terms of 18650 batteries. When an 18650 battery is discharged, you can recharge it with a Fenix battery charger. Some Fenix flashlights can also recharge the batteries in the flashlight itself, without having to remove them!

Fenix flashlights on CR123A batteries

The CR123A batteries are very small and therefore the torches that use this battery are often compact. The batteries hold their charge for 10 years and are very suitable for sporadic use. A disadvantage is the lower capacity and the high price you pay for these batteries at an electronics shop. You should not try to charge CR123As in a torch that supports internal charging!

Fenix on AA batteries

AA batteries are available everywhere, and relatively small. In addition, these penlites are available both rechargeable (NiMH) and non-rechargeable (Lithium and Alkaline). These variants each have their own specific properties, which can have advantages and disadvantages depending on the application. Fenix also makes torches that work on 14500 batteries as well as AA batteries. Torches with 14500 batteries offer higher voltage (3.7V vs. 1.5V) and more power than AA batteries, resulting in brighter light output and rechargeability.

Fenix flashlights on AAA batteries

AAA batteries are also available everywhere, but are even smaller than the AA variant. Because of this, AAA batteries are often used in keychain-sized torches. This version is also available in several variants, both rechargeable and non-rechargeable.

Fenix flashlights on 21700 batteries

21700 batteries offer compact power, longer burn time and fast rechargeability. Ideal for intensive use, adventures or DIY projects. Reliable, durable and perfect for situations where you need light.
