For these tools you need a slightly coarser sharpening stone with which you can quickly restore the edge without needing to end up with razor-sharp results. 

## How to use the Lansky The Puck sharpening stone

The main advantage of The Puck in comparison to a traditional sharpening stone is that you can easily use it by hand. With a traditional sharpening stone you move the knife over the stone. For large and heavy tools, however, it is easier to move the sharpening stone over the tool. In addition, the round shape is perfect for sharpening with rotating movements. A fast and natural way to sharpen large tools.

## Grain size Lansky the Puck

The Puck from Lansky has a coarse (grain F120) and a fine side (grain F280). You use the coarse side if you see visible damage on the edge of your tools. You use the grain 280 to sharpen the edge. With the flat part of the stone you sharpen straight parts of, for instance, a machete. The bevelled edge is great for the curved edges of, for instance, hedge clippers.
