The **Opinel No. 08 133080** is an all-round pocket knife for use in the garden. It is a variant of the popular Opinel No. 08, but better suited for weeding, cutting lettuce or collecting dandelions. It also makes a very nice gift for those who love gardening!




You open this knife using the 'nail nick', a small groove in the blade that proves a little more grip to bring out the knife with two hands. The Virobloc has been chosen as the locking mechanism. This is a lock developed by Opinel that some people also call a 'ring lock'. The Virobloc holds the knife in place both when opened and closed. You turn the ring to release the blade and then turn it back to keep the blade in place.



## Blade made of Sandvik 12C27 steel
The blade is made of Sandvik 12C27 steel, a corrosion-resistant steel from Sweden that was specially developed for knives. It is a steel grade that strikes the perfect balance between toughness, ease of sharpening, corrosion resistance and sharpness retention.



This knife has a convex grind. This is a special sharpening method where the side of the blade continues in one convex curve to a razor-sharp edge. This sharpening method is often applied by hand in the factory. The great advantage of a convex grind is that it offers the perfect balance between minimal cutting resistance and optimum strength of the edge. The blade of this knife is enhanced with a 'satin finish'. This is a chic and tasteful finish that is very popular.

Great little knife, very slicey and light., standard Opinel lock works great.  Handle shape makes it more pocket friendly than the std No.8 but not as good for carving as the thin end tires you hand after a bit. Lost a star because mine was basically unsharpened for the 3cm to the tip 9but like a razor for the rest of the blade).

Als je gewend bent aan moderne flippers, dan is de Opinel even wennen. Maar de Opinel is zeer zeker een geweldig mes. En dat voor zo'n bedrag. 

Opinel No. 08 inbox . This knife has a red wooden handle and a stainless steel blade . The blade length is approx. 3.25 inches in length , putting it slightly over the 3 inch limit in Ireland 🇮🇪,  however the bright colour of the handle gives a non intimidating appearance . Being a stainless steel blade  , slow to rust , it is a nice size for food preparation . Therefore it is usefull for camping 🏕 tasks in general . As for its weight of 45 grams , it is ideal for light packing . I can also recommend this knife .


This knife is very cheap and I'm not sure how long it will last, but it is excellent for the garden, and even if it only lasts 3 or 4 years, then its still great value.
